Bristol North West CLP Launches ‘100 Club’

By Tracy Tainton CLP Fundraising Officer.

Bristol North West CLP is announcing the launch of the 100 Club – an opportunity to support our campaigning in Bristol North West, whilst being in with a chance of winning a monthly prize of up to £50.00.

The ‘100’ represents the maximum number of ‘shares’ in the club which will be drawn each month (see below), meaning that each member’s share has a three-in-a-hundred chance of winning a prize. [Slightly better than the National Lottery!]

Each share requires a monthly donation of £5.00. For those who are unwaged / low waged or students, a monthly donation of £2.50 is available, for which the prize money will be £25, £10 or £8.

There will be ten draws each year, drawn at monthly EC meetings. There will be no draw in August or December, but a double draw in September and January (i.e. two first prizes, two second and two third]. Membership of the club is only open to paid-up members of Bristol North West CLP, but up to five shares may be purchased and the donating member may designate other names to each share.

Contact Barry Trahar (Treasurer – barry.trahar@gmail.com) to register your interest in the Club and specify a ‘full’ share or a ‘half’ share.

The Club will not kick off until the first 50 places have been taken. Once this has happened Barry will notify everybody who has registered their interest with a minimum of 21 days notice. Payment must be made by standing order and this must be set up by the Member. [The CLP is unable to facilitate direct debits]. Payment must be received fourteen days before the draw takes place and the winners will be drawn and announced at the EC meeting. Prizes will be either by cheque or direct credit transfer to a bank account and monthly winners will be announced to all members of the Club.

If the 100 Club proves popular and we are oversubscribed, we will create a second ‘pot’, which will again require 50 places to be taken before it becomes active.
