Wendy’s Little Haven

Many of you may have seen Wendy in The Mead several times either fundraising for the Bristol Oncology Centre and volunteering at the BS10 Bingo and the Travelling Teapot. Although Wendy still receives treatment and weekly chemo for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia she still finds time to tend to her beautiful garden at the Woodnook in Southmead.  She calls it her ‘little haven’ where she can go and potter around and enjoy the fresh air.  Most of the flowers and plants have been lovingly grown from seed and the garden has an array of solar lights, so when the sun goes down, the garden starts to twinkle.  This is Wendy’s favourite time of the day to enjoy her garden and to watch the birds and wildlife as she sits on her bench.
