We are very excited to announce that TLG Make Lunch Southmead has been selected for Tesco’s community token scheme.
During January, February and March, when shopping in store at many local Tesco stores (including the Tesco Expresses in Southmead, Westbury-on-Trym and Horfield, as well as many larger stores such as the ones in Henleaze and Bradley Stoke), shoppers who take tokens can choose Make Lunch as their choice of charity for Tesco to donate to.
At the end of the quarter, TLG will then get either £500, £1,000 or £2,000 depending on how many tokens are put into their pot. Half of this will come directly to Make Lunch in Southmead, run by St Stephen’s Church.
Please remember to request a token whenever you shop in-store and drop in the TLG pot. This will raise vital funds towards supporting Make Lunch. Holiday hunger is very real and affects many families in our community. Make Lunch provides much needed hot meals during the school holidays as well as various fun activities for school children. Many children look forward to attending Make Lunch and we’ve seen them form friendships with each other as well, with Make Lunch being the only opportunity for them to see each other.
