Our Next Session for Parents & Carers: Wednesday 26th June

Are you caring for a young person who is struggling with their wellbeing and mental health?  Our children’s team (Link Forward) here at Southmead Development Trust works closely with parents and carers and so we may be able to help.

We often hear about similar issues that families would like support with.  These can range from finding a way round the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) system, helping children who experience anxiety going to school, trying to manage changes in their child’s behaviour, to helping their child to get a good night’s sleep.  Families are desperate to see their child in a better place, but can often feel they are alone, that finding help is complicated, and that they do not know where to start.  This is where our sessions, Pop-Ups for Parents, come in.

In partnership with experts, at our Pop-Up sessions our team focuses on a theme which parents and carers have raised with us. Sessions offer information and guidance, a chance to ask questions, and a safe space to connect with families who are experiencing similar situations.

Everyone is welcome at our next event on Wednesday 26th June, where we will be talking about play, encouragement, and listening, with the help of the charity Kids Matter.  In this session we will look at how we can strengthen family relationships through play, positive words, and listening.

If you would like to come along we would love to know so we can make sure we have enough chairs, and teas and coffees, so please sign up using our online form or contact us as below.  Our Centre is fully accessible and if you have any particular requirements, please let me know.

We look forward to seeing you there.
