Link Forward are thrilled to announce the next in our Parent Pop Up series, covering topics from emotionally based school avoidance to the teenage brain and what your teenagers behaviour might be communicating!
The Link Forward team will be joined by some of the lovely faces from SEND & You, North Star Outreach, and Bristol’s Primary Mental Health Specialists, to deliver these sessions.
- Monday 29th January, 10am – 12pm – What you need from SENDIAS services.
Open forum questions and opportunity for 1:1 support from SEND advisors. For parents and carers of children with SEND. We will be joined by advisors from SEND & You who will run a short focus group followed by an opportunity to speak with an advisor about supporting your child with SEND, e.g. how to apply for an EHCP, what you can expect from school in terms of SEND support, how to prepare for an EHCP review.
- Wednesday 21st February, 9:30 – 11am – Emotionally-based school avoidance.
For parents and carers of children in primary school who find it hard to go to school as a result of negative emotions, such as anxiety. We will be joined by North Bristol’s Primary Mental Health Specialist, who will be talking to us about what EBSA is and how we can best support children who find school overwhelming.
- Wednesday 28th February, 9:30 – 11am – The teenage brain – how to help young people regulate.
For parents and carers of teen and pre-teens. We will be joined by Dawn from North Star Outreach, who specialises in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
All sessions will take place at the Greenway Centre, and will be accompanied by tea, coffee, biscuits, and an opportunity to connect with parents and carers who are going through similar things.
