In the second week of the Easter holidays there are some great activities happening across Southmead as part of a city wide event called “Hope Bristol” involving 1,400 volunteers.
On Wednesday 4th April there are a number of community action projects taking place in Southmead – clearing gardens and tidying community spaces.
Each afternoon Wed-Fri there will be a free children’s holiday club for those who are primary school age. Register at 1.45pm at St Stephen’s Church on Ulswater Rd. While the children have fun, there will be a free craft cafe running for parents. The chance to have a coffee and chat, with the option of joining in some craft activities.
On Thursday afternoon at 2.30pm at New Brunswick URC on Wigton Crescent there is a free Cream Tea for anyone over 50. Contact Kathy Glover (07468567203) if you would like to come along, so we can make sure there are enough cakes!
The Noise Family Fun afternoon that normally runs on the May Bank Holiday weekend has been moved to the last Saturday of the Easter holidays! So come along on Saturday 7th April from 12-2pm to Glencoyne Square for all the usual FREE activities including inflatables, Southmead’s Got Talent, face painting, crafts and BBQ.
If you see a volunteer with a bright green T-shirt on during the week, do come over ad say “Hi”. Happy Easter!
