Artist led activities for all ages from 11am-2pm
The Dunmail Community Corner Arts Project is designing a piece of artwork for the corner of Lanercost and Dunmail roads and we’d love to share our ideas with you and gear what you’d like to see.
The painting will cover a fence around old electrical substation and be a part of the new housing development, Elderberry Walk, which is being built on the old Dunmail School site.
We aim to produce an artwork that celebrates the history of Southmead, whilst welcoming new residents to be part of this wonderful community
Three Bristol based artists, Grace Kress, Luke Palmer and Anna Haydock-Wilson are running art sessions with schools and community groups so we can bring a bit of art into people’s lives and talk to local residents about what is important to them. We believe that locals are the experts in their area and that listening to what you have to say is the best way for us to design something beautiful.
The Meadows to Meaders project, BS10 Parks and Planning Group and Team Southmead have been inspiring us with their conversations and we’re looking forward to hearing more, especially form people who went to Dunmail School.
We’ve already been to the The Ranch and Southmead Youth Centre and we’ve done some printmaking with the lovely Well-Being Arts group at Greenway Centre, Fonthill Primary school and Orchard Secondary School.
Finally we’d like to everyone who has been involved so far for sharing memories and stories and invite more of you to get in touch. We’re especially keen to hear from people who went to Dunmail School and have memories and photos to share.
