There’s nothing better than snuggling up with a good book and a cup of tea as the chilly weather descends upon us. Apart from said book being penned by members of Southmead Creative Writers’ Group that is!
Southmead Creative Writers’ Group started meeting a year ago, after local resident Kath Horseman was keen to reignite the joy she’d found through being a member of a similar group ‘back in the day’. Other Meaders had a similar passion for creative writing and, with a bit of support from Southmead Development Trust to find some funding, Southmead Creative Writers’ Group was formed. And now they are in print!
Kath says:
‘I set up Southmead Creative Writers’ Group in February 2018. As someone who has experienced the value of being part of a writers’ group, I wanted to share this with others.
As the name of this (our first publication) says, our group members do indeed have “a way with words”, even though for most they had never written before. In our weekly workshops we share what we have written – encouraging each other to use individual experiences whilst valuing the friendship of group members.
If you would like to come and join us, you would be most welcome. We meet every Tuesday, 10.30am-12pm at the Greenway Centre.’
“A Way With Words” is available to purchase for £5 from the reception desk at the Greenway Centre. All (small) profits will go to Southmead Creative Writers’ group. Get your copy today before they’re all snapped up!
