Has lockdown got you thinking about your skills? Would you like something new to focus on? Does the job you want need certain skills or qualifications?
Whatever the reason, now is a great time to get into education or training!
Colleges, universities and training providers are adapting their courses so they are Covid safe. There are lots of online or blended learning options to choose from as well, if you’d prefer to be learning from home. Many of these courses start in September.
We know that it can be confusing to choose what’s right for you and to access what you want. This is where the Employment and Training team at Southmead Development Trust can help.
We run a service called West of England Works for people who are out of work. We’ll link you up with a mentor who can support you to explore your options, find courses and get you training ready!
We’ve supported people to access a whole range of training from IT to security, accountancy to food hygiene, Maths to hairdressing. Whichever direction you would like to take, we can make it a little less daunting.
