Charge the Earth Summit: 1st October, 10am – 4pm, at the Greenway Centre

Profit making companies are charging the Earth for the energy we need to heat our homes. Darren Jones MP has long been calling on the Government to make UK homes more energy efficient. Improving the energy efficiency of our homes would mean we need to buy less energy to stay warm, so lower bills – and we would reduce our carbon footprint, too.

Tired of waiting for action from the Government, Darren is running this event in his constituency of Bristol North West to showcase what is possible when people take action.

Everyone is invited to this family friendly event on 1st October, 10am – 4pm, at the Greenway Centre.

What you can expect:

  • Advice on benefits, pension credits and how to get help with energy debt

  • Practical tips from tradespeople on quick-and-easy wins to make your home more energy efficient

  • Live demonstration on laying loft insulation

  • Lively talks covering the wider political landscape of the energy and climate crises, how to prepare our homes for extreme weather and quickfire practical talks for homeowners and tenants

  • Find out what it’s like to work with David Attenborough and the impact humans are having on the planet in a special video-led talk by a natural history producer

  • Fun and educational activities for children, courtesy of the team from the We the Curious science centre

  • An informal networking event for all the organisations in Bristol working to tackle the climate crisis

The event is free and no ticket is necessary, you can just turn up – but we kindly ask you to RSVP via the Facebook Event page if you are able to do so – this will help us to know numbers intending to come, thank you.
