Celebrating Women on Saturday 11th March

Bristol Women’s Voice, and a very dedicated team of volunteers, are looking forward to spring, to work together on the programme for our flagship free event of the year.

Not many free events in Bristol attract as many volunteers to support them as this, or as diverse a range of participants. This year’s International Women’s Day event will bring together women from different communities across Bristol to connect, learn and celebrate.

More than 100 contributors and partners will be running workshops, performances, exhibitions, activities and talks in and around City Hall. Activity themes include health, nurture, poetry, music, film and photography, dance and visual arts.

Highlights from the draft programme include: The women who built Bristol; Question Time with MPs; sessions on women in tech, business and sport; discussions on global feminism, climate change and what female leadership looks like; curvy girl yoga, menopause action, self-defence sessions; and LOTS more.

This year we’re planning an evening event and a women’s march as well. We’ll be putting the full programme on our website in the next few weeks.

As a tiny organisation that punches well above its weight, we only pull this off thanks to a massive team of dedicated volunteers. We really need sponsors to help promote the event and develop some of the activities we have planned, and still need even more volunteers, so we’d love to hear from you!
