Aren’t books wonderful! You can travel all over the world without leaving your chair. You can peer into the lives of other people, some who lived long ago, some who were never real but you love them still. Books can inspire and divert you, entertain and inform you. Books let you live!
But perhaps you have read all the books on your shelf. Or you feel like reading something new. But you find this hard, you can’t get to your library because of age, a disabling condition, or caring responsibilities. Provided you are an adult who lives in Bristol we can help you, even if you live in a care home.
The Bristol Home Library Service has a team of DBS checked volunteers. Our volunteers will happily call in at least once a month to bring you new books, either regular books, paperback, hardback, or large print or on CD. They will often have time for a chat or a catch up.
So if you are interested in this service contact us using these details. Or if you know someone who would like the service pass on these details to them.
