This weekend the Greenway Centre is delighted to again host the Greenway Community Practice’s annual Community Flu Jab. On Saturday 28th September around 1000 residents will receive a warm welcome in our main hall before being jabbed!
The event is a fantastic initiative by Greenway Community Practice to hire a space big enough to immunise as many flu-vulnerable patients as possible at the same time, to help stop the virus from quickly spreading in the community during Flu season.
Around twenty staff from the Practice will be on hand to ensure that patients get the best possible Flu jab experience, and health partners from across the City have been invited to support the event. MacMillan Cancer Support, Bristol Dementia Action Alliance and the Royal Osteoporosis Society will attend to offer advice and information.
Local arts groups Brush Strokes and Southmead Knit and Natter will also be attending to show their work and encourage residents to get creative for health. In addition, residents can find out how to volunteer to help tackle the unhealthiness of loneliness in our community – look out for our Neighbours Connect Southmead stall.
For a tasty morning treat there’s a Greenhouse Café special offer – any hot drink with a toasted teacake or tray-bake cake for just £3.00. The Café will be open from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.
Everyone is welcome at the Greenway Centre on Saturday, come and join in. However, flu jab slots must be pre-booked – there’s still time – telephone the Greenway Community Practice on 0117 959 8939 before 6:30 pm this Friday.
