A Cracking Night for Meaders at the Old Vic

On Thursday 5th of January, I had the pleasure of joining the Meadow 2 Meaders group on a night out at the Bristol Old Vic to watch The Nutcracker.

And what a cracking performance it was!  A modern twist on the original by Ernst Hoffman but no sugar plum fairy in sight.  The stage props and costumes were vibrant and the music was electrifying.

With only nine actors playing multiple parts, the transition between characters was very cleverly choreographed.  There was lots of audience participation and I must give a special mention to Gwyneth Herbert (the Mouse Queen) who we met after the show.  She had the most amazing singing voice.  She is pictured above with Sher.

We must say a big thank you to Barry our driver from Lawrence Weston Community Transport.
