A couple of weeks ago I was at the Greenway Centre, Southmead, where PC Lee Paterson and his colleagues were celebrating his retirement with local residents and friends. The tipple of the day was just tea or coffee and plenty of cakes. Lee and I go back a long way and we talked about the time we were invited to a students leaving do at Trinity College. At the end of the evening one of the organisers offered us a lift home in a patrol car. Lee said “now Marion when you get out at your house, I will say now don’t you do this again or I will have to take you in”. I replied you’d . . . . better not! Lee and I did get a lift home but I think he thought better of making any remarks. I wish Lee all the best in his retirement. Marion
