We’re at the end of another wonderful Winter Celebration Week with just our Festive Quiz Night and Buffet at 7pm this evening to go (do come along). We’ve been having so much fun this week – take a look at our pics below.
What I love about the Winter Celebration Week is that not only do residents now ask for it to happen, but also put on the activities and events for other residents to join in with.
The wonderful Shirley of the Travelling Teapot taught us how to make a festive wreath for the door, and Sarah from Greenway Strollers showed us how to upcycle a blanket or scarf into a poncho to save a bit on the heating or to pop on after a cold water swim!
Our Linda helped us to make Christmas Cards, Angela showed the coffee morning crew how to make fidget jewellery, and Rhona facilitated a Milagro making session – a super effective way of making decorations or lucky charms from tin; save your mince pie cases and give it a go!
Our regular community corner groups had a festive feel with mince pies and winter themes. Our new shared reading group discussed some seasonal poetry. The Greenway strollers treated all walkers to a lunch in the café.
Linda said, “it’s been an interesting week, I’ve learned a lot. I would like to make more Milagros.”
I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who gave their time and shared their skills, and to those who came along.
If you would like to join any of our regular groups please find the times on our website HERE or in The Mead mag. We’ll be making paper Christmas trees at next Thursday’s coffee morning, so do come and join us (10am – 12pm).
If you have anything you’d like to share or do, please get in touch, and remember to join me tonight for the Festive Quiz Night and Buffet – it’s going to be lots of fun with great prizes to win!
