Public consultation on plans for a new affordable council housing development on the site of the former White Hall took place in February 2024.
Feedback from the consultation has been considered and the plans have been updated where possible, based on the comments received. You can view a breakdown of the consultation responses and find out how the scheme has been adapted based on feedback, using the link HERE
A planning application for the site has been submitted and allocated the reference 24/01436/FB.
The planning process involves a statutory consultation of 21 days, and during this time residents can submit their views and comments on the plans. The Planning Department will publicise the plans by a variety of means, including site notices and letters to people living near to the proposed development.
If you have any questions or queries relating to the planning application, please email: development.management@bristol.gov.uk.
Alongside this, work to upgrade the Embleton Road Play Area is due to start next week. The play area will have new play equipment designed by pupils at Little Mead Primary Academy. There will be a large ‘Wow’ spiral climber, an accessible roundabout, slides and lots of swings. There will also be new seats, litter bins and a colourful playground surface. The large trees and grass mound will be staying, and we will be planting some additional wildflowers.
The play area will be closed while the new play space is built, and the Council’s Parks Team apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Wicksteed Leisure will have started on site on Monday 29th April, and the playground will be fenced off for roughly seven weeks – ready to reopen before the school holidays.
