Everyone Invited to Celebrate CommUnity at The Ranch: Saturday 14th June

It is nearly time for our Southmead CommUnity Celebration, as part of the Bristol Refugee Festival’s annual programme of city-wide events.

Everyone is welcome for food, music, arts and dance, from around the world, on Saturday 14th June, 12 – 3 PM.

We are proud to have now been part of the city-wide Bristol Refugee Festival for five years, bringing Southmead residents together to get to know each other, and to share cultural influences.

Our CommUnity Celebration is open to all and there will be something for everyone, young and old and in-between, from anywhere across the globe.  We cannot wait to sample Sudanese, Senegalese, Somalian, and Kurdish delights, just to name a few.

We are excited to announce that the fantastic band Helele will be performing, and so we can guarantee there will be dancing!  There will also be story sharing, crafts, and activities, the event is family friendly.

Welcoming is one of our Trust values, and when we visit door-to-door each year for the annual Southmead Community Update we are delighted to hear that most residents find Southmead welcoming, and that they would like to attend more events bringing people together over food and conversation.  So do come and join in.

If you are from a refugee background and would like to share something at the Southmead CommUnity Celebration – a song, a story, food, or anything else, you would be very welcome – do contact Lucille, email: lucillesmith@southmead.org, or tel: 0117 950 3335.

We hope to see everyone there for a warm welcome.
