Trym Valley Open Space Cleanup this Sunday – more volunteers wanted!

Sunday 27th, 11am-1pm

The Open Space between Doncaster Road and Shetland Road, either side of the stream, is currently neglected and in a sorry state. Come and help us give it some love this Sunday 27th January!

A party of volunteers from two local Friends groups will be clearing as much of the rubbish as possible from the river itself, and the surrounding open ground in Trym Valley Open Space. The more helping hands we have, the more impact we can make.

If you can spare even 30 minutes to pitch in, we’d love to see you there. We’ll supply strong gloves and hi-viz jackets for safety, and all the bags needed, along with litter-picking tools. Just be sure to come dressed for the weather and in sturdy boots. Whatever your level of fitness or experience, there’ll be something you can do to help.

We’re trying to improve the Trym all the way from end to end, and so far we’ve held cleanups in Blaise Estate and Sea Mills, and hauled tons of trash out. The difference is really noticeable. Now it’s this little patch of Southmead’s turn to shine!

The meeting point on Sunday is at the Doncaster Road entrance to the Open Space, and we’ll work in teams from 11am-1pm, followed by coffee and a bite at the Greenway Centre Café. For those who want to do more litter-picking, we can carry on in the afternoon.

Our volunteers always say the cleanups give them a great sense of achievement and satisfaction.

Any questions, please call me on 07523 493663.

Thanks for reading, and I really hope to see some of you on Sunday.
